The National Hospitality Association of Ghana (NHAG) was established in March 2020, at the onset of the Corona virus in Ghana. As part of Government’s efforts to combat the global pandemic, various restrictions were placed on all players in the hospitality sector.
Restaurants, eateries, hotels, resorts and all tourist activities were shut down and the country’s borders were closed. This was a very challenging time for the sector as many employees lost their jobs in the process and businesses struggled to survive.
It was evident that the sector needed a strong voice to particularly champion the cause of restaurants and eateries in the national space, and to work with Government and other stakeholders to ensure a speedy revival of business confidence in the sector.
The above conditions gave birth to the National Hospitality Association of Ghana (NHAG). Currently made up of over 60 restaurants and eateries, the Association has remained the mouthpiece of restaurants and eateries in seeking Government’s intervention and support for the sector.
The Association has made sequential media representations on behalf of its members, attended various stakeholder meetings, and has held important discussions with key players in the industry on various national issues.
